Maxine Rose Schur
Maxine lives in California with her husband and close to her two grown sons and three grandchildren, all of whom inspire her. She loves to create stories for children from preschool age to Young Adult. And as a former professional actress, she enjoys sharing her stories with children in fun, lively presentations. When she’s not writing, you can find her just north of San Francisco walking in a forest or along the beach, playing the mandolin, studying French, and most of all, because she’s also a travel writer, daydreaming of faraway places.
Gullible Gus
Written by Maxine Rose Schur
Illustrated by Andrew Glass
Poor Gus! He’s so gullible; he believes everything people tell him. Everything! The other cowboys feed him lies and tall tales—just to see if he’ll swallow their silly stories. Their teasing makes him sadder than dry soup. But luckily, Doc Hickory knows a cure for gullibility, and it starts with a visit to Fibrock, a town full of liars. Can the biggest fibber in Fibrock teach Gus the difference between fact and falsehood? Maybe it’s not always clear which is which.
